We are currently accepting applications for:

Public Relations Director
Search online for conference contact info, schools, etc as possible speaking engagements for WHOA President Jayne Hitchcock. Will send initial emails to contacts promoting Jayne and WHOA

Internet Safety Advocate
Must be over the age of 18 and have a working knowledge of email, web browsing, IM and social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace. Since many cases include profanity and compromising situations, must be very open-minded and not easily offended.

Newsletter Compiler
This is done on a weekly basis on Monday mornings. Go through various news sites (such as Google News, Yahoo News, etc) to find cyberstalking and related news stories from the previous 7 days and put them together into a newsletter. Once newsletter is put together, send it to WHOA President Jayne Hitchcock, who will post it to the various groups & blogs.


Basic Information:
  1. All volunteers must be at least 18 years old, or they must have reached the age of majority in their native country if that age is younger than 18.
  2. If you have an active online harassment/stalking case (with WHOA or any other organization), we ask that you wait until it is resolved to begin volunteering. (You need your energy for your own case right now.)
  3. WHOA staffers must not be affiliated with any other online safety organization.
  4. WHOA staffers must uphold our mission statement.
  5. Must have an excellent command of the English language. All official WHOA communication is done in English. Fluency in other languages is helpful, as we do receive reports from people all over the world, but is not necessary.
  6. Stable, reasonably secure internet access, with the ability check email at least daily.

Describe any personal experience with stalking or harassment, online or offline, if any.

Do you have any kind of legal background? (Lawyer, paralegal, law enforcement officer or education/training related to any of those fields.) Elaborate.

How much time do you have to devote to WHOA? How often do you check your email?

How's your personal (offline) security? If somebody got angry because of your association with WHOA, how easy would it be for that person to find you offline?
