Tim is an attorney and was one of the first attorneys to practice in the distinct area of internet law. Beginning in 1997, Tim was counsel for Southern New England Telecommunications (SNET) Internet in New Haven, CT Following the purchase of SNET by SBC Communications, Tim represented SBC Internet Services in San Francisco, CA, whose regional ISPs had a combined subscriber base of several hundred thousand customers. While with SBC Internet, Tim worked closely with law enforcement and SBC Internet Service's policy department to halt online abuse, including cyberstalking, online child pornography, spam, and other abusive behavior. In addition, Tim helped formulate SBC's policies on legal issues involving internet content and the provision of internet services. Tim also negotiated commercial transactions involving business clients within SBC Internet Services.
In 2000, Tim moved on to inServ e-Customer Solutions, a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) startup that specialized in providing CRM-services to DSL and other broadband providers. While at inServ, Tim served as General Counsel, Director of Legal Services, and Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors of inServ.
Tim currently lives in Boston, where he owns and operates his own law practice specializing in commercial law and Internet law. He has guest lectured on Internet law at Queens College Law School, and is a current member of the American Corporate Counsel Association and Boston Bar Association. When practicing in New York City, Tim was a member of the Science and Law Committee of Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he chaired the Legislative Subcommittee and facilitated positioning the Science and Law Committee on pending federal and state legislation. Tim is a graduate of Boston College Law School.
